Practising by HSK level
The 2026 syllabus separates characters you need to recognise from the smaller set you must be able to write by hand. Every level page marks which is which, so you can copy just the handwriting ones into the box above.
A whole level at once is too much for one sheet — HSK 1 alone has 246 characters. Ten at a time is about right for a page.

- Is this free?
- Yes, and there is no account. Type characters, print the page or save it as a PDF.
- Which characters can I use?
- Any of 9,574 — the whole set we have stroke data for. That covers every character in the HSK syllabus with room to spare. Rare and non-standard ones may be missing, and the sheet tells you which rather than dropping them silently.
- Why is there no PDF download button?
- Because your browser already has one. Printing the page gives you a vector PDF — sharp at any size, a fraction of the file size of a rendered image, and no server in between. The page is laid out for A4 with everything but the sheet hidden.
- What is the stroke order strip above each row?
- A cumulative diagram: each cell adds one stroke, with the new one highlighted. It is built from the same stroke data as the sheet itself, so the two cannot disagree.
